Attaining his undergraduate degree presented many challenges. In 1989, while in his second year of college, Mitch suffered a tragic diving accident, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Mitch’s life was forever altered. His experience dealing with insurance companies and their denial of payment for a wheelchair during his suffering played a key role in his choice to become a lawyer. The tenacity that Mitch developed during these days not only drove him to complete his undergraduate studies but also was a driving force for him to pursue his passion to study law.

Mitch earned his law degree from Mercer University in 1997. He has displayed admirable determination in his own life and is empathetic and passionate about the rights of his clients.
